Redlands TERRIER MARCHING BAND

The Redlands Terrier Marching Band, affectionately nicknamed RTMB, is the Redlands High School's historic and award winning marching band.

​RTMB operates during the fall semester, rehearsing twice a week. They compete in field tournaments across Sothern California as well as performing at home football games, pep rallies, and local community parades. The RTMB recently qualified and performed for the California State Band Championship  ("CSBC") 2024 5A Division Finals, placing 7th place with their program "The World of Tomorrow". 

Wind ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the advanced, auditioned-based class comprised of brass, woodwinds, and percussion. It operates during both fall and spring semesters, performing in seasonal concerts on campus as well as Southern California School and Band Association ("SCSBOA") music festivals. The Wind Ensemble performs contemporary and traditional wind band literature, orchestral transcriptions, marches, and popular music. In 2023, the Wind Ensemble earned an unanimous Superior rating at their SCSBOA Festival. 

CHAMBER STRINGS

The Chamber Strings is the advanced, auditioned-based class comprised of string players. It operates during both fall and spring semesters, performing in seasonal concerts on campus as well as Southern California School and Band Association ("SCSBOA") music festivals. The Chamber Strings performs contemporary and traditional string literature, and popular music. The Chamber Strings recently received an unanimous Superior rating at their SCBOA Festival. 

Symphonic Band

The Symphonic Band is the main band class comprised of brass, woodwinds, and percussion. It operates during both fall and spring semesters, performing in seasonal concerts on campus as well as Southern California School and Band Association ("SCSBOA") music festivals. The Symphonic Band performs contemporary and traditional wind band literature, orchestral transcriptions, marches, and popular music. In 2023, the Symphonic Band received an unanimous Superior rating at their SCSBOA Festival. 

Orchestra

The Orchestra is the primary class comprised of string players. It operates during both fall and spring semesters, performing in seasonal concerts on campus as well as Southern California School and Band Association ("SCSBOA") music festivals. The Orchestra performs contemporary and traditional string literature, and popular music. This past year, the Orchestra  received an unanimous Superior at their 2023 SCSBOA Festival. 

Jazz band

The Jazz Band is an advanced, auditioned-based class comprised of brass, woodwinds,  percussion, guitars, and piano. They meet twice a week after school during the spring semester. They perform at concerts, competitive festivals, and local community events. The Jazz Band recently got 2nd place at the 2023 Riverside City College Jazz Festival (Advanced Division).

The Redlands Terrier Percussion Ensemble, is a new group that formed in 2023, after a 14 year hiatus. This is an audition based, competitive indoor percussion ensemble that meets twice a week after school during the spring semester.  They perform at numerous competitive indoor percussion shows throughout Southern California and are a three time medalist. For the 2025 competitive season, the ensemble earned a bronze medal in the California State Band Championships ("CSBC") 2025 PSO Indoor Percussion Finals.

colorguard

The Colorguard is a newly formed group that started in 2023. This is an auditioned-based, competitive indoor dance ensemble that meet twice a week after school during the spring semester. Members dance while spinning and tossing colorful flags, as well as other equipment,  under the direction of our colorguard instructors and show designer. They perform at numerous indoor colorguard competitions throughout all of Southern California. This past  season, the Colorguard finished in 9th place at the West Coast Winter Guard ("WCWG") 2025 Regional A Championship Finals.
