Starting from when he got his first drumset for his 4th birthday, Alejandro Cid (affectionately nicknamed "Cid") has been infatuated with the idea of becoming a percussionist. His introduction into the marching and concert percussion started in 2017 at Sultana High School, under the instruction of Alex Gray. After graduating, Cid found himself auditioning and marching with the Riverside City College Marching Tigers as a cymbal player for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, gaining valuable knowledge from the other world class cymbal players he marched alongside. Cid also performed on bass drum for Élan Percussion, an independent open class indoor percussion ensemble, where he earned a Southern California Percussion Alliance ("SCPA") bronze medal under the direction of Orlando Cazares. Cid is currently pursuing a degree in Music, which provided him the opportunity to perform with the Cal Poly Pomona Percussion Ensemble in 2021 and 2022, under the tutelage of William Schlitt. He joined the Redlands High School Instrumental Music instructional staff in 2022.
In addition to music, Cid is also an avid cat admirer and fanatic, willing to pet any cat in his vicinity. His favorite feline is the most purrtiest 1 year old kitten named Catniss that he lives with.
